The Best Saturday Ever

Last night Thad and I watched a program on 20/20 about how families are dealing with unemployment and the economic downturn. And seeing as how we definitely fit that description we took some notes. One of the families talked about how they have adjusted their activities and now instead of going out to eat or to the amusement park, they do more simple things at home.

So today, we left the boat in the driveway and decided to have a fun at home day all Saturday long. And we had the greatest time!

After spending some time this morning cleaning and doing chores, we blew up the "island" and went for a swim in the pond.

It was so much fun - even our new adopted dog, Sundance enjoyed playing with us in the pond.

Thad cleared out a bunch of small trees and bushes near the pond this morning and the boys used some of the wood to make "swords" for sword fights.

After swimming in the pond, Miles took a dip in our blow up pool.

Everyone loved the red slushies I made them this afternoon.

And who needs wii or expensive toys when you have jar lids to toss?

We did get worried when Adeline's head was lost - but it came back down eventually.

And we finished our frugal and fun Saturday off with story time and a human sandwich.

Good job honeybun! As much as I would love to take credit for this entry, all of you must know I would NEVER put a picture of myself in a swimsuit with mass rad neon sunglasses and very sexy hair on my blog!! But we DID have a great day! I hope we have many more "slow" days this summer. But we can do that with a JOB!! :)
