I LOVE Sarah Palin

Tonight we braved the freezing cold weather (it was 38* outside) and went to Hastings to await the arrival of the Sarah Palin Going Rogue Book Signing Tour! We were all bundled up with coats, hats, gloves and scarves and it was still so cold!

We got there at about 6:15 for the 6:30 arrival and the parking lot was totally PACKED!!!! Crowds of people everywhere, police, tv trucks, even some protesters...stupid people!! Thad and I drove seperately, and of course I got there without my cell phone! Miles Harrison and I walked the crowd looking for them and wondering if we should ask a stranger for their phone. I thought surely we'll see someone we know.... but after following the line down to Panera Bread and back we actually ran into Thad and the other kids. Soon the bus came down 24th and everyone starting cheering, it turned the corner and pulled into the parking lot as we raced through the crowd to get a good spot. We were constantly yelling at the kids to keep up and not get lost, I told Miles if he got lost he'd never make it back! He said "back where?" We all made it together and the bus drove RIGHT PAST US!! We waived and I'm sure Sarah looked right at us and waived back! :)
The bus pulled through the barricade and moved up a little bit, stopped and after a couple minutes out she came!!! The crowd started cheering and she went over a shook a couple hands, but I guess she's not used to this Oklahoma cold weather so she headed inside to the heat.
Soon after that I had to go to the Citizens Advisory Counsel meeting and Thad took the kids home for bed. We met back up at Hastings about 9:10 and got at the end of the line...no wristbands needed! People had actually camped out last night to get a wrist band that guaranteed them a signed book! It was 26* last night!!! Are you crazy? The line went surprisingly fast and at about 9:30 we were almost there! We had to drop our coats and bags, stick the camera in my pocket and make the final walk to SARAH PALIN!! I was soooo excited! When we got to the table the first thing I thougt was she is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and I couldn't believe I was standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER!!! We said hello...thanks so much for coming, I love you I love you I love you, we have 5 kids too and she looked up and said "oh, isn't that fun?! That's so great!" Then Thad started to talk to Whitney (who works for the State Party) who was sitting next to her passing books, so Sarah (yes, we're on a first name basis now) asked how they knew each other and I told her he had been a State Rep for 6 years and he was one of the good guys! She liked that! This all took about 30 seconds but it was the best 30 seconds ever!! There was a photographer there and Thad told her to take LOTS of pictures of us....ha ha!! I can't wait to see if there is a good one! Too bad my huge 3rd eye was on the side of the photographer...maybe I can photoshop it off! :) So then we walked around the corner and pass an older man and he said "Hey, aren't you gonna say hi to Sarah Palin's dad?!" I was sooo excited! Her DAD!!! So I gave him a little hug and told him I loved that she was"reloading" and asked if we would get in trouble if we took a picture with him. He didn't care and Thad got a great picture of us, I told him thanks so much for coming! Oh it was soooooo great!!!!! I'm still sooooo excited that we got to meet her! Yeah! So then we walk off and around the corner and I look at Thad and realize he had LEFT HIS BOOKS AT THE TABLE!!! So we had to walk back and he gets his books and another peak at Sarah and we headed out. Oh....what a night!!!! LOVED IT!! Can't wait for 2012.....ROMNEY PALIN ticket!!! Oh yeah!!

I have not seen this side of Amy Balkman! I had no idea that you were into it as much as Thad...but I have to say that Sarah is pretty awesome...I think it's great that she likes to hunt and she did not encourage her daughter to get an abortion. I have friends that live in Alaska who worship her because she really cleaned up Alaskan government....plus she has lots of kids. Go Amy
