I can hardly believe Christmas is ONLY 9 days away!!! We're almost done with the shopping, the lists have been sent to Santa, school program last night, Pack Mtg tonight, class parties tomorrow! There is always so much going on and something to do, so with that little intro I'll catch up on the last week!
Friday night Adeline and I went to see Peter Pan at the Sooner Theatre with her friend Julie and mom Michelle. We had a nice dinner at Pei Wei before, and then made it down to the theatre on Main St just in time to snap a couple pictures before the show. This show was INCREDIBLE!! We absolutely LOVED IT!! The singing and dancing was fantastic, and we loved how they flew on stage! Can't wait to see what's playing next!

Saturday was the Norman Christmas parade. This is one of our favorite things to go to every Christmas season! And this year Jackson's band was going to be playing RIGHT NEXT TO IT!! Perfect! Saturday morning we get up nice and early, heated up the water for hot chocolate, loaded up with the car with plenty of ourdoor gear since it was FREEZING and left to pick up Jackson's friend and Adeline. We met up with lots of friends and were ready for a great time...awesome music and a fun parade!

We got over to the Depot where Jackson's band would be playing and we could watch the parade too.....and then found out that Jackson wasn't really playing there...he was in the Old Towne Hall....where you can't see the parade! It all worked out because it was inside and nice and warm, and the arts market was set up and they had some beautiful things and Harrison stayed with friends to watch the parade while Jackson's groupies came with us to watch him!! Sarah and Sterling even made it along with Sundance and Rascal! It was a great show! The old time favorite's of Collateral Damage, and a couple Christmas ones. They did a real rock on and roll Ramone style Jingle Bells, and added some Oh Come All Ye Faithful to We're Not Gonna Take It...Twisted Sister style! I always love seeing him play, he does such a great job! Even when he drops his pick, Chad has one ready for him! And when the mic falls out of the stand, an unknown fan runs up to fix it! Everything always works out! :) He is calm, cool and collected on stage....always! :)

After his concert, we made it over to Main Street to catch the end of the parade. It moved extra fast this year so we didn't see much of it, but we still got the idea! :)
As soon as the parade ended we rushed over to the Optimist Club for Miles first basketball game! He played great for not being at a full practice yet and seemed to understand what he should be doing....run down the court, stand under the basket with your hands up....run back down the courst, stand under the basket with your hands up! There is a rule that if the kid is outside of the 3-point line you can't defend him. Well, in the second game Miles decided that was a pretty dumb rule when the other team was ahead by one point, and they were letting the clock run down by standing in place outside the 3-point line just bouncing the ball. Miles took all he could take, and finally ran out there and just pounded the ball away! Of course he got a foul and the other team still had the ball but I think he felt a little better! :) Thad, the proud dad, yelled "that's my son!" Oh man! It could be a long season! Miles is #25...the kid with the big feet! :)

Saturday night we had the YM Presidency Christmas party over here. It was a lot of fun even though we were short on numbers! 8 people isn't the kind of party we're used to throwing around here! :) It turned out nice, the Smith's brought the best ceasar salad you've ever had and I won a Mr. Potato Head and a jar of spicy sausage things that looked totally nasty and the kids keep asking if they can eat! I can't even remember what Thad won...what did you win???
Sunday we had a nice break, went to church and then wrapped up the presents for the family at school. The kids were all very excited about picking out presents for someone else and I think this will be a great tradition for our family to do year after year!

Last night was Miles's 1st grade program...Santa's Letters. It was so cute and full of fun Christmas songs and dances. His class danced to Santa Wrap and did a great job! I love all the Christmas music and am so glad they actually get to sing it at school! Jackson was on the stage crew this year and got to help open the curtain, hand out props and take care of the side of the stage. Mr. Bob and Ms. McElroy always does a super job on all the programs!!

After the program we had friends come over for an ice cream and hot chocolate party! Nothing like ice cream when it's freezing outside, but it's just what you do after a school program! It was so much fun and everyone actually left before it was too late and the kids were all in bed by 9:30.

Now we have the PTA Board Christmas party, our 16th anniversary, more shopping and lots of wrapping wrapping wrapping! I can't wait for Christmas! I love this time of year!!!!
