Norman Christmas Parade

Yesterday we went to the Norman Christmas Parade. Jackson marched in it with people from McMichael Music where he takes lessons, so he had to be at the studio at 9:00. We all got up and got ready, I made lots of hot chocolate to take, we packed up the car, added Sterling and left the house just in time. After we dropped him off we staked our claim at the parade with a blanket, chairs and the stroller, stopped by Food for Friends to finally drop off the food the Cubscouts collected at the food drive. They really appreciated it and I was so happy we could help. Then we stopped by the Dollar Tree to grab bags for the collecting of candy, and also got some silly string for pre-parade entertainment.

We got back to Main Street about 9:40 and still had out spot! The kids stayed on the grass away from the other bystanders and began the silly string war, having a blast shooting each other and running around, I'm sure all the other kids wished their parents were as cool as us and brought them silly string! It was a beautiful day, and wouldn't have been too cold if it weren't for that dumb wind!! It literally was blowing us over. Taryn came, the Staci was across the street and we ended up with Joni, Amber and Rebecca and kids all around. The kids had fun collecting candy, but I have to admit the economy even hit the parade. I swear there wasn't as much as usual!

Here is Bart Connor and Nadia as the Grand Marhalls of the parade, Thad made sure to let everyone know he has his cell # in his contacts list. :)

Miles and Hudson getting ready to run for candy. They did a great job collecting their loot!

Harrison and Reagan giving up on cady and trying to stay warm.

And the BEST part of the parade, the moment we were all waiting for...the famous

JACKSON ARROWSMITH BALKMAN!!!!!

Oh! We miss Oklahoma! They do not throw any candy in the Utah parades (something about littering and ordinances). Jackson looks so proud! Next time have Thad get a pic. of you!

and i can NOT believe thad and all his speeding warnings (and all your tag problems and brake light being out!!). that is just unbelievable. the only time i got a warning was at age 16. since then i've probably had 5 tickets.
